I’m still racing. Can I start late?
Absolutely. Athletes can enter the off-season anytime from September 28th onward. We can even help you integrate a late season race into your off-season training. If you want to finish your season and then get our help, just leave your email and last race date below, and we’ll be in touch when your season wraps.
How many hours a week is this?
6–9 hours a week for most athletes.
Built to be flexible around your schedule, training preferences and goals.
Room for life — holidays, travel and everything outside of training.
The goal: keep progressing while creating the space to finish refreshed and ready to charge into the new season
I'm dreading a boring winter of indoor riding. What bike platform do you use — and how miserable will it be?
We get it. That’s why we’ve worked hard to make indoor riding one of the most engaging parts of the off-season.
Your weekday rides come to life on Velocity, our interactive video-coaching platform. The training structure and coaching keep you engaged and motivated even on cold, dark mornings. Every weekday ride is video-coached, with the option to join a live interactive session.
Sessions are short, purposeful, and varied — terrain work, skills, and high-value efforts instead of endless trainer miles. We promise, boredom won’t have time to set in.
Once a month, ride with the Purple Patch community from around the world — a dynamic, fun Saturday session that brings everyone together.
And we want you outside, too. Gravel, mountain biking, and other soul-filling rides all have a place in your program.
Athletes regularly tell us that the trainer rides are their favorite parts of off-season training.
I've never done structured strength training. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Many athletes come to us new to structured strength training — or having struggled to stay consistent with it.
Every session is fully video-guided in TrainingPeaks, so you’re never left guessing about a movement or what to do next.
Two sessions a week, typically 30–40 minutes each, with the option to add 1–2 more if strength is a focus for your off-season.
We help you stay on track. The structure, guidance and coaching make it easier to build strength into your routine — and actually stick with it.
No perfect gym setup required. We make it easy to follow the program across a range of equipment and gym-access options.
Won’t I lose fitness if I train less?
It’s one of the biggest fears athletes have about the off-season. But you’re not stopping training — you’re training differently.
Less volume. More purpose. We reduce overall hours while keeping purposeful intensity that protects your top end.
Build what’s harder to build in-season. Strength, durability, technique and craft become a bigger focus when race preparation isn't dominating your training.
You’re building the platform for what comes next. Any slight dip in aerobic sharpness comes back quickly. When you layer endurance and race-specific work onto a stronger foundation, that’s when you can unlock bigger gains in speed and power.
The athletes who lose fitness are the ones who stop training — not the ones who train differently.
